Reason 27 - Terra Mitica

Every time our family visits Benidorm, there’s one place that my wife, our three sons, and I always make time for—Terra Mítica. This theme park has become a staple in our family’s trips to the Costa Blanca, offering something for each of us, from thrilling rides to more relaxed, family-friendly fun. Let me tell you why Terra Mítica is one of our favorite spots in Benidorm and why it’s the perfect destination for families looking to add a little excitement to their vacation.

What I love most about Terra Mítica is how it transports you to different worlds inspired by ancient civilizations. As a family, we enjoy exploring the themed areas—Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia, and The Islands. The boys are always fascinated by the huge statues and detailed recreations of historical landmarks. There’s something magical about wandering through the Egypt zone, with its towering pharaohs and intricate carvings, that captures their imaginations every time.

My wife and I appreciate how each zone is thoughtfully designed, making it not just a fun experience but also an educational one. It’s like taking a journey through time without ever leaving Benidorm. And of course, the boys love discovering the different areas, especially when they know an exciting ride is just around the corner.

Our oldest son is the thrill-seeker of the family, and Terra Mítica never disappoints him. The first ride we always head for is **Magnus Colossus**, the park’s enormous wooden roller coaster. The sheer size of it is enough to get his heart racing, and he loves the adrenaline rush of speeding along the track, especially during those big drops. I’ll admit, I enjoy it too, though I’m always relieved when the ride comes to an end!

Our middle son, who’s a bit more cautious, prefers the slightly less intense, but still exciting **Titanide**. This inverted roller coaster lets him feel like he’s flying, with his feet dangling freely as he twists and turns through the air. He always gets off with a huge grin, proud of himself for conquering the ride.

For our youngest, who’s not quite ready for the big coasters, we stick to rides like **The Rapids of Argos**. It’s a fun, water-based adventure that the whole family can enjoy together, and the splash of cool water on a hot day is always refreshing.

One of the great things about Terra Mítica is that it caters to all ages, so there’s plenty for my wife and I to enjoy with our younger sons while our oldest is off seeking thrills. We love spending time in the Rome zone, especially at **The Circus Maximus**, where we can all watch the chariot races and enjoy some entertainment that doesn’t involve a roller coaster!

The Iberia zone is another favorite, particularly the **Akuatiti** water park within the park. The boys can splash around on the slides and in the shallow pools, giving us a chance to relax and take in the scenery. When we’re all together, rides like the **Ayquesustus** train are perfect. It’s a gentle, scenic ride that gives us a chance to enjoy the park at a slower pace.

After a morning packed with rides and activities, we’re always ready for a good meal. We usually head to **La Taberna** in the Iberia zone, where we can sit down as a family and enjoy some delicious Spanish food. The boys love the tapas and grilled meats, while my wife and I often go for the paella. It’s a great way to refuel and spend some time together before diving back into the park’s attractions.

Of course, no day at Terra Mítica is complete without some sweet treats. The boys are big fans of the ice cream and churros from the kiosks scattered throughout the park. We usually grab something cold and sweet to enjoy while we explore, and it’s one of those simple pleasures that we all look forward to.

For our family, Terra Mítica is more than just a theme park—it’s a place where we can create lasting memories together. Whether it’s cheering on our oldest as he braves the biggest coasters, laughing with our younger sons as they splash around in the water park, or simply enjoying a meal together in one of the park’s themed restaurants, Terra Mítica has something for all of us.

It’s the perfect complement to the beaches and nightlife of Benidorm, offering a mix of excitement, relaxation, and family fun that we all cherish. If you’re planning a trip to Benidorm with your family, I can’t recommend Terra Mítica enough. Trust me, it’s an adventure that everyone—kids and adults alike—will remember for years to come.
